Labelstock manufacturer and contract coater VPF, based in Sprockhövel, Germany, has undergone a sustainability assessment by EcoVadis for the second time since 2023. The comprehensive analysis revealed that the company is among the top 5% of companies assessed in the industry. VPF was awarded the gold medal for this.
According to EcoVadis, it is now the world's largest provider of sustainability ratings for companies. To date, over 130,000 companies in over 180 countries and over 220 sectors have been rated. Companies are classified according to their activities in the categories of environment, ethics, labor and human rights as well as sustainable procurement. Each company is assessed in terms of issues specific to its size, location and industry.
The EcoVadis methodology is based on international sustainability standards (Global Reporting Initiative, United Nations Global Compact, ISO 26000) and is overseen by a scientific panel of CSR and supply chain experts to produce reliable ESG ratings.
“Being awarded the gold medal by EcoVadis confirms that we at VPF are also on the right track in the area of sustainability and are a partner to be taken seriously with the documentation that is now required when selecting suppliers,” says managing director Ralf Waltmann.
“We are proud of this team performance and that we were able to improve on last year's already good silver rating by a whole 10 points,” adds Waltmann.
VPF also has an extensive range of CO2 footprint-optimized raw materials for the production of adhesive composites.
