Fortis Solutions Group, a provider of high impact printed packaging solutions and a portfolio company of funds managed by Harvest Partners, LP, has announced the appointment of Carlos Tapias as its next chief executive officer (CEO).
Tapias is a highly regarded packaging executive who boasts more than 20 years of experience with both US and international companies. Previously the vice president and general manager of Tekniplex’s North America Fresh Food business, Tapias spearheaded the integration of Grupo Phoenix, acquired in 2021, where he had served as CEO of its US operations. He began his career at Grupo Phoenix as a sales manager in 2001 and rose to become CEO of its Latin America operations.
Meanwhile, leading the charge toward sustainable packaging solutions, Multi-Plastics, Siegwerk and Tripack have united their expertise to unveil a new APR approved fully recyclable shrink sleeve water bottle project for the English Mountain Spring Water Company.
The project will be showcased at Labelexpo Americas 2024, September 10-12 in Chicago, IL. This collaborative effort underscores a shared commitment to environmental stewardship and innovation in the packaging industry.
Multi-Plastics, a key contributor to the project, provided its Envirocycle 30% post-consumer recyclate PET shrink sleeve film essential for the structural integrity of the recyclable English Mountain Spring Water Company water bottle. Siegwerk's CIRKIT deinking primer technology, combined with SICURA Orbis ink technology, has been utilized to wash off in combination with deinking primer, and it was instrumental in ensuring the bottle's recyclability.
