Converting Press Operator
Summary: A progressive scientific manufacturing company seeks a highly experienced, quality-minded and detail-oriented individual to join our manufacturing team as a Press Operator. This is a full-time position offering salary commensurate with experience. The position reports directly to the CEO and has dotted line responsibility to our CTO and Operations/ Quality Manager. Significant experience with servo controlled, rotary die cutting and printing presses is a requirement. Additionally, this person must exemplify customer passion, be a team player have excellent technical knowledge and problem solving skills.
Candidates selected will submit an application and be given preliminary assessment testing designed to measure general knowledge, attention to detail, and mathematical skills. If the candidate passes the interview and assessment testing, they will be given the opportunity to run a press in order to confirm their knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to:
- Set-up and tear-down jobs according to documentation
- Efficiently operate various presses with minimal waste
- Perform quality inspections per Quality Department procedures, engineering drawings and documentation
- Design/ modify web path layouts for maximum efficiency and speed
- Troubleshoot die cutting, lamination and printing issues
- Update production logs and work instructions accurately and timely
- Assist in the development of new products
- Propose and implement continuous improvement initiatives in order to reduce costs and maximize operational/ manufacturing efficiencies across the department
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment per engineering procedures and ensure charts or logs are up to date
- Positively contribute to company's safety, quality and production goals
- Report any unsafe working conditions
- Understand and adhere to company policies and procedures
Desired Skills and Expertise:
Competencies/Talents/Personal Attributes:
- Excellent mathematical, mechanical and analytical skills
- Expertise in web converting, tension control, lamination, printing, static elimination, die cutting and tooling
- Experience operating servo controlled and line shaft rotary die cutting presses (i.e. Delta, Mark Andy 2200)
- Experience and knowledge regarding different polymers, foils and materials
- Basic understanding of electricity and circuits
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Ability to improve operational efficiencies
- Organizational skills
- Detail oriented
- Good English communication skills, written and verbal; Spanish a plus
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Exhibits a professional demeanor at all times
- High School education or equivalent
- Some post High School education preferred in related field
- The ability to interpret and understand engineering drawings and tolerances
- Previous manufacturing experience required; medical manufacturing preferred
- 5-7 years of rotary die cutting and printing experience. Servo controlled Delta experience is a huge plus
- Problem solving, troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills and training
- Proficient PC skills; Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook)
