Wink is presenting its full portfolio of premium diecutting solutions and services. Highlights on Wink’s booth 1529 include new SuperCut flexible dies, an improved GapControl adjustable anvil, and ultra-precise magnetic and printing cylinders.
Diecutting materials and applications become more and more challenging for label and packaging converters. Wink's new SuperCut “Special” dies, with specific adjustments of the blade geometry in combination with special coatings–for diecutting of very demanding materials like MDO on thin PET liners–are on display. Other showcased tools include dies for security, multilayer, in-mold and tire labels. Moreover, Wink isl presenting large sized SuperCut “XXL” dies, which are used in sheetfed offset or wider web, semi-rotary converting machines.
The ultra-hard MCR coating increases the tools’ durability, especially when diecutting very abrasive (thermal) materials in long runs, while Wink’s optimized non-stick coatings “White” and “Grey“ offer maximum protection against adhesive and ink residues.
Wink is also showcasing an optimized version of the GapControl, which has been further improved in terms of handling and pressure control. The GapControl is also running in a Mark Andy press at booth 319. The operator can adapt the gap (cylinder clearance) with greatest accuracy individually for the drive and operator side, so that all kinds of facestock and liner materials can be diecut properly, while reducing downtimes due to web breaks or tool changes to a minimum. The GapControl is simple and flexible to operate and features stable construction.
The system combines the stability of conventional anvil rollers with the flexibility of adjustable systems, however, without any limitations in terms of speed, applications and maintenance that other adjustable systems have. For example, the GapControl is well suited for cutting-through (metal-to-metal) and high-speed diecutting.
After the acquisition of the German cylinder specialist FST in 2014, the cylinder portfolios of both manufacturers have been bundled and streamlined, so that customers now benefit from both companies’ best solutions. Wink is showing the full range of high-precision magnetic and printing cylinders, which allows customers to get all rotary tooling from a single source.
