Avery Dennison – Mentor, OH, USA – Avery Dennison has named Mitchell Butier president and CEO. Dean Scarborough will stay on the Board as executive chairman. In addition, the company’s Materials Group has announced that Hassan Rmaile will take over as global vice president of R&D, where he replaces the retiring Sjaak Elmendorp. Rmaile will oversee the Materials Group and focus on developing new, disruptive applications while continuing to grow the performance and cost attractiveness of the core business.
AVT – Hod-Hasharon, Israel – AVT has named industry veteran Walter Nackaerts (1) as its new president of European operations. He brings more than 25 years of experience in a broad range of managerial positions at multinational companies in the printing and healthcare industries.
Bunting Magnetics – Newton, KS, USA – Bunting Magnetics has promoted Robert Bunting (2) to general manager, Magnet Materials Division, located in Elk Grove Village, IL, USA.
CCL Industries – Toronto, ON, Canada – CCL Industries has appointed Guenther Birkner to the position of president of the Healthcare & Specialty business division. In addition, it has named Peter Fleissner president of CCL Design. Both executives will continue to report to Geoffrey Martin, president and CEO of CCL.
Colordyne Technologies – Brookfield, WI, USA – Michael Offerman has joined Colordyne in the role of parts and service manager, reporting to technical director Ron Brown. Offerman brings 33 years of experience in printing, finishing, engineering, customer service, installation, management and team development to Colordyne.
CS Labels – Willenhall, West Midlands, UK – CS Labels has appointed Gareth Spencer to production controller. He has over 10 years experience in flexible packaging and has held several positions in process improvement, quality management, continuous improvement and technical development.
DuPont – Wilmington, DE, USA – DuPont has named Randy Stone as president of its Performance Materials business, where he succeeds Patrick Lindner. Stone joined DuPont in 2007 and has served in progressive leadership roles for the DuPont Dow Elastomers joint venture and DuPont Performance Elastomers business.
Harper – Charlotte, NC, USA – Patrick Hogan has joined Harper as the technical graphics advisor for the Midwest, and Bill Ruttan has been named Southeast technical graphics advisor. Hogan is a Six Sigma Green Belt with extensive knowledge of flexographic and rotogravure print processes and expertise in graphic arts. Ruttan brings with him 29 years of experience in the industry, ranging from press operation to graphics manager for a high-profile folding carton plant.
Matik – West Hartford, CT, USA – Matik has hired Jeffrey Pierce to serve as an on-site service technician. He will be servicing Melzer equipment and is responsible for minimizing the machines’ downtime.
New Era Converting Machinery – Paterson, NJ, USA – Stefan Rudolph (3) has joined New Era Converting Machinery, where he will fill the role of international business development specialist for Europe, India and parts of Asia. He will operate primarily from his office in Hamburg, Germany.
NPES – Reston, VA, USA – NPES has announced that Thayer Long will serve as the next president of NPES. He is succeeding Ralph Nappi, who has led NPES for the last 11 years and recently announced his retirement.
Pamarco – Atlanta, GA, USA – To support current and future growth across the United States and globally, Pamarco has appointed Tabatha McDonald to the technical service department. McDonald and the technical services team will be responsible for the accurate analysis of customer anilox conditions and providing helpful suggestions to ensure each anilox operates at maximum efficiency. Frank Greene has also joined Pamarco as a technical sales representative in Southern California, Arizona and New Mexico. He brings skills and expertise in the flexographic printing and packaging process.
Spinnaker Coating – Troy, OH, USA – Spinnaker Coating has hired Larry Kashuk as director of sales for its merchant business. He’ll be responsible for management of Spinnaker’s merchant sales representatives, as well as development of programs and strategies to ensure continued growth of Spinnaker’s sheet product portfolio.
UPM Raflatac – Tampere, Finland – Tapio Kolunsarka, executive vice president for UPM Raflatac and member of UPM’s Group Executive Team, will leave UPM in August in order to join Ramirent PLC as president and CEO.
Zebra Technologies – Lincolnshire, IL, USA –Zebra Technologies has appointed Jeff Schmitz to chief marketing officer. He is replacing Juliann Larimer, who is now VP of North America sales for Zebra. Schmitz previously worked at Spirent Communications as chief marketing officer and executive VP, as well as senior VP of sales and marketing at Rivulet Communications.
