The In-Mold Decorating Association (IMDA) has announced the winners of its Ninth Annual Awards Competition. The 2015 IMDA Awards Competition honors the industry’s best in-mold labeled packaging and in-mold decorated durable products. The winning entries were chosen based on creativity in design, engineering and innovation.
Here are the 2015 IMDA Award winners:

Best Thin Wall Package, Gold Award – Stephanos Karydakis Printing House SA for Olympus Greek Yogurt

The IMDA Silver Award winner for Best Product Family met the brand owner’s request for a new clear package to replace an opaque paper container. The new container needed to be clear and have a clear IML decoration while meeting the -40°F freezable impact requirements.

Eggyplay, the IMDA Gold Award winner for Best Part Design, was developed to provide a creative packaging concept for the egg industry. The Eggs Posure showpiece serves as both packaging and a sustainable toy because the egg boxes work like clickable building blocks.

For the IMDA Gold Award winner for Best Product Family, Plano Synergy set out to upgrade their bait storage buckets in both functionality and ease of use, while also establishing a unique visual look on the shelf that sets the Frabill brand apart from competition.

The IMDA Gold Award winner for Best Prototype Package has a multi-interactive label that uses several technologies, including thermochromic ink in printed areas, which changes color reversibly.

The Gold Award winner for Best Thin Wall Packaging uses BackPrint technology, which offers a totally scratch-free label surface and is ideal for pasteurization, autoclave procedures and dishwasher resistance. The package has the highest possible gloss without the use of UV lacquers.

ConAgra Foods, together with Tech II, developed a thermoformed square 15 oz package, which took home the IMDA Gold Award in the Best Thermoformed IML Package category. This re-branded product is now highly decorative and offers great communication opportunities.

Cascade Dishwasher Packs, winner of the Best Injection Molded (IML) Package Gold Award, features full wrap IML, replacing PS labels on the front and back. The result is a visually stunning package that brand owner P&G says has helped increase sales significantly.
