Label Impressions, a fast growing label and flexible packaging printer in Southern California, has expanded its operations into a new 30,000 square foot manufacturing space.
The company, which was incorporated in 1988, has experienced double digit growth since President and CEO Jeff Salisbury took over in 2009. Originally, plans called for a 50,000 square foot space but investments in software, talent and equipment designed to improve efficiencies have allowed the company to do more with less, churning out significantly more volume with less space.
“We’ve worked hard at developing streamlined processes and relocating equipment to achieve an efficient flow,” explains Mike Ornellas, operations manager. “We’re most excited, however, about the new layout which will allow us a true ‘one-piece flow’ in keeping with our Lean initiatives and our focus on fast turnaround.”
“This expansion has been in the works for several years and is part of our long term strategic plan,” says Salisbury. “The additional space will house our finishing operation, allow us to install new, wide web flexible package printing and converting equipment and a digital label printing press.”
Additional plans call for a two new 10 color Nilpeter presses in 13" and 17" widths. Both are scheduled to arrive in November.
