Clemson symposia cover flexo and color
Color reproduction for flexographic printing is the subject of a symposium scheduled for September 10–12 at Clemson University, Clemson, SC, sponsored by its Department of Graphic Communications in partnership with the Printing Industries of the Carolinas. The symposium offers participants the opportunity to interact with Clemson faculty and industry experts over two and a half days of discussions, presentations and hands-on sessions. Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of press characterization, the fundamentals of color measurement, and the application of process color in the production environment.
Clemson also will conduct a color measurement and management symposium October 8–10. The technical program designed for industry professionals who need to communicate about and manage color effectively. Participants will learn the workflow for color reproduction, the calibration and use of color measurement devices, the techniques for profiling scanners, digital cameras, computer monitors, proofing systems and press capabilities, and the application of these tools and techniques to ensure consistent and repeatable color reproduction. An “across the printing process” workflow will be considered, to include flexography, gravure, screen printing, inkjet, offset lithography and other printing processes.
