UCB arm produces adhesives in Thailand
Surface Specialties UCB will begin producing acrylic pressure sensitive adhesives in Thailand later this year. The Brussels-based business has acquired the Rayong Emulsion plant previously operated by Clariant Chemicals Ltd.
Production at Rayong will center on water and solvent based Gelva, Solucryl and Ucecryl adhesives, which are used in graphics, labels, medical, automotive and tape markets.
Surface Specialties already operates a resins plant at the 150,000 square meter site, where it produces powder and acrylic resins for coatings and unsaturated polyester resins for a variety of uses.
