Kocher + Beck USA LP has announced the completion of a major expansion to its hard tooling production facility in Suwanee, GA, USA. A recent installation of two of the very latest high caliber CNC milling machines adds to the existing range of equipment and further enhances the quality and service already available. The new machines from Lang GmbH Germany are providing a dramatic increase in the company’s capacity for solid rotary tooling, including AD1, AD2, Marathon, Platinum and Thermalizer steel dies, as well as brass hot stamping tooling.
Kocher + Beck acquired the former American Die Technology facility in 2008 and, over the past five years, the company has invested heavily in upgrading the facilities and production capabilities. 2012 was by far the most ambitious of the upgrades – the new Lang machines completed a year where the company invested over $1,000,000 in new equipment.
“Our investment in the Suwanee facility demonstrates our continuing commitment to this vital market segment,” says Executive Vice President David Morris. “It is our intention to be the most versatile supplier of all narrow web dies in North America. The products from our hard tooling division, combined with the flexible die solution from our Kansas facility, means that we offer our customers a full range of products to fit an ever changing market.”
