The Easy range from Easy Cleaning Solutions Ltd (Formerly Jeyes) has rebranded part of its household and utility range with a decorative shrink sleeve packaging solution from Clondalkin Flexible Packaging Bury (formerly Chadwicks).
Two variants of the sleeves were printed in 8-color UV flexo for the one liter fabric conditioner and 750ml liquid detergent.
The print is protected from discoloration and damage from liquid spills due to the reverse printing on the sleeve. The PET sleeve also provides a scuff resistant cover for the print.
Tom Brooks, commercial director from Easy Cleaning Solutions, comments, “We decided to move away from the original label packaging and opted for a shrink sleeve solution as it offered us the high-end quality feel that we wanted for this particular range. These are premium products, therefore it’s essential that we use superior packaging designs. With its wealth of experience, Clondalkin Bury was the ideal sleeve supplier, and we are delighted with the end product.”
Unlike PS labels, which can only be placed on the front and back panels, shrink sleeves encompass the entire container by covering angular and contoured areas and allowing more space for imagery and text. Using clever artwork placement, shrink sleeves give a 360-degree view of the design without distorting the image.
Alastair Bearman, sales and marketing director for Clondalkin Flexible Packaging Bury, says, “This is a great example of how shrink sleeves can really help premiumize a brand. Brands can create outstanding shelf appeal by maximizing the print area and by using high definition UV flexo, which gives gravure quality at a competitive price.”
Clondalkin Flexible Packaging Bury is a UK-based supplier of flexible packaging solutions in the food, dairy, beverage, personal care and household sectors. With over 70 years of experience, it has developed a reputation for leading the way in the manufacture of pre-cut lid and shrink sleeve packaging solutions.
Yogurt lids bring dollop of Christmas cheer
This past holiday season, Clondalkin Flexible Packaging Bury produced a festive lidding solution for The Collective, a gourmet yogurt brand, using mirror printing technology.
Nine different designs of the 7-color printed polyester lids were produced, each one featuring a Christmas joke with the punchline revealed upon opening.
Utilizing the same technology as Clondalkin Bury’s coding concept, all the print is on the surface of the lids to ensure the printing ink does not come into contact with the product. Part of the print covered by the design is revealed when the polyester lid is peeled back.
Sam Thomas from The Collective brand owner Epic Dairy says, “It has been a pleasure to work with Clondalkin Bury on this project, and their attention to detail has been second to none, ensuring that the Christmas seals look as impactful as possible. The Christmas seals allow us to get our consumers to interact with the brand, and the mirror print technology, in particular, helps put a smile on people’s faces and feel positively about The Collective over the festive period. The surprise and delight style of branding ensures that we have something completely differentiated, driving awareness of The Collective brand and increasing word of mouth about our great tasting gourmet live yogurt range.”
John Chadwick, managing director at Clondalkin Flexible Packaging Bury, adds, “We’re delighted to see our mirror printing technology being used so successfully for the Collective Brand and enjoyed spreading some Christmas cheer over the festive period.”
Clondalkin Flexible Packaging Bury is one of 10 companies operating throughout Europe under Clondalkin Flexible Packaging.
