FLAG, the Flexo Label Advantage Group LLC, a buying group for label converters, recently held its fourth Annual Members Meeting in Connecticut. The event provides education and networking, as well as a forum to honor vendors and partners.
Highlights of this year’s meeting included two tours of local FLAG converter member facilities, UPM Raflatac winning the FLAG 2015 Vendor of the Year Award and a special FLAG Strategic Partner of the Year honor, awarded posthumously to Brad Brown. Brown, a former vice president of national accounts at Pitman, was an instrumental force in helping FLAG president and founder John McKay establish the organization. Going forward, the award will be named after Brown. “Brad was the kind of strategic vendor partner you want to work with because he was always proactive in trying to help your business grow,” McKay said. “This award honors commitment, creativity and excellence – traits which Brad endorsed every day.”
Another key announcement at the meeting, was that FLAG has formed several key strategic alliances with PIA Affiliates across the USA. “These strategic alliances are established to provide increased services, support and educational opportunities for members of each organization,” explained McKay. FLAG also has an alliance with International Printers Worldwide, who serves 170 members in 45 states, as well as five provinces in Canada and Barbados. FLAG now has more than 40 member companies, and is also growing on the vendor side. Speaking on FLAG’s Annual Meeting, McKay added, “It’s a great opportunity for our FLAG Members and Vendor Partners to come together for education, interaction and networking. One Illinois member who attended the meeting even commented that, for him, this was his most productive time spent in 2014!”lnw
