Two Montreal, Canada-based engineering companies, ETI Converting and RDP Marathon, have announced a partnership designed to build an important bridge between label printing and manufacturing. Under the new agreement, RDP digital – a division of RDP Marathon – will supply ETI Converting with the IPT digital JFlex870 print converting system, transforming the company’s Mini-Cohesio machine into an inline digital inkjet printer and label production platform.
Using Memjet inkjet technology (14 micron dots at 1600 x 1375 dpi), the JFlex870 produces photo-quality color graphics in full process at 70 m/min with provisions for an optional fifth color. “This simple yet innovative concept, combined with our Pellicut technology which enables diecutting on very thin liners, will allow printers to develop new markets and produce finished labels for small and medium production runs at very competitive prices,” says Maxime Bayzelon, president of ETI Converting Equipment.
A demonstration of the newly-integrated technology will take place at at Labelexpo Europe in Brussels, September 29 to October 2, 2015.
“We are very pleased with this opportunity to in add digital printing capacity to inline label production and look forward expanding the use of JFlex inkjet printing worldwide,” comments Eric Short, president of RDP Marathon.
