Hamillroad honored for innovation at 2018 Label Awards

The software company received the 2018 Award for Innovation (for companies with up to 300 employees).
During Labelexpo, Hamillroad Software, specialists in prepress software for the printing and graphic arts industry, received the 2018 The Label Award for Innovation (for companies with up to 300 employees).
The Award for Innovation recognizes Bellissima Digitally Modulated Screening (DMS), Hamillroad’s screening technology for flexographic printing, as a ground-breaking innovation, set to transform and disrupt the flexo printing industry.
Developed by Andy Cave, Hamillroad CEO and creator of the Harlequin RIP, Bellissima DMS delivers high-quality flexo prints, equivalent to 350-450 lpi. Used in over 80% of the world’s prepress workflows, the software helps flexo printers realize the full potential of flexo and rival the quality of print typically associated with offset and rotogravure.
The Label Industry Global Awards was created in 2004 to celebrate innovation and excellence; being the recipient of an award is the highest accolade given in the label industry.

The award-winning Bellissima DMS delivers unrivalled image reproduction and boasts no color shifts on misregistration. By using fixed palette inks, the screening delivers smooth flat tints and moiré free prints with no visible rosettes. Vignettes fade smoothly to nothing enabled by printed highlight dots as low as 1.0% and shadow dots up to 99.5%.
Since launching twelve months ago at Labelexpo Europe 2018, Hamillroad’s Bellissima DMS technology for flexo has gained enviable attention. The Award for Innovation will join the trophy cabinet, sitting alongside the FTA’s 2018 Technical Innovation Award. The award season is not yet over with Bellissima DMS also shortlisted for the FlexoTech’s 2018 Innovation Award.
