Agreed to at Labelexpo Europe, the acquisition will help to develop the printer's new flexible packaging business.
LabelProfi, a Slovenia-based labels and packaging converter, has signed on for an HP Indigo 20000 digital press at Labelexpo Europe. The acquisition will help to develop its new flexible packaging business, in a deal marking the 200th unit sold worldwide.
The HP Indigo 20000 digital press will be installed in Slovenj Gradec, Slovenia in October, alongside LabelProfi’s two narrow web HP Indigo WS6800 digital presses and label converting equipment. Just one year ago, LabelProfi commenced flexible packaging production by installing the Karlville Pack Ready Lamination Solution to convert films printed on their HP Indigo WS6800 presses, as it aimed to diversify business and tap into growing demand for flexible packaging.
The move to the 76 cm HP Indigo 20000 press with Karlville converting enables Labelprofi to build a high-capacity, digital print for flexible packaging, covering a wider range of application and product sizes.
“We set a business goal to transform our label business by offering on-demand, sustainable flexible packaging with fast time to market,” says Uroš Slemenik, founder and CEO, LabelProfi. “With the new HP Indigo 20000 digital press, we have the ability to extend our well-known service in the label industry to flexible packaging and continue delivering what our customers expect.”
Since launching flexible packaging services, LabelProfi has seen strong demand for short runs of various products, including films, pouches, sachets, wraparound labels, and personalized print.
