QuickLabel Systems has released a video interview with Doc’s Tea to document how the maker of healthy, low-sugar, bottled sweet teas has increased its production speed, reduced its costs and enhanced the look of its labels by using a Kiaro! label printer to print its own labels.
Doc’s Tea is a handcrafted, small-batch beverage brewed by a family of dental health professionals dedicated to a healthy lifestyle. Recently, Ken Banks, owner of Doc’s Tea, made the switch.
“When I first saw the Kiaro! print I was amazed,” says Banks. “I was impressed with the application process of the labels with our bottles and the look of the labels.”
Due to the company’s manufacturing process, it needed a faster solution with short run capabilities. “We make our product on demand so that we can deliver a fresh product, not one that’s brewed, bottled and then stored,” adds Banks.
Banks further explains the benefit of the digital printer: “The Kiaro! label printer fits in so well for us because it is allowing us to do small batches, to have high quality labels, not to have a large inventory. It allows us to brew on demand and to print on demand.
“It allows us to have flexibility and to print the highest quality label we can for our product,” says Banks, whose customers order varying quantities and flavors of the company’s teas.
Christopher Banks, chief creative officer, explains that an in-house label printer allows Doc’s Tea to eliminate inventory costs and streamline production.
“It’s been really great as a startup company because we don’t have to spend so much money going out to the big labeling companies,” says Christopher Banks. “We can print them out as we need them and save some time and also save some money.”
