The Foundation of Flexographic Technical Association (FFTA) has formed an educational alliance with the Department of Printing at West Virginia University Institute of Technology (WVU Tech), in Montgomery, WV, USA. The seminars, hosted at WVU Tech, will include a basic flexo training program to begin in the fall. More programs will be added depending on industry interest.
“FFTA is always looking for new affiliations within the field of education. By assisting colleges and universities, the foundation is able to help broaden the horizons of flexography and strengthen its future,” says FTA Technical and Education Director John Anderson.
Jack Nuckols, WVU Tech professor, adds, “WVU Tech is proud of the growing Department of Printing and its new flexographic acquisitions. A union between WVU Tech and FFTA is a natural and sensible one. Both parties are interested in flexographic opportunities for the current and future workforce.”
The school has acquired a Mark Andy 2200 six color press with UV curing capability, a BST Pro Mark visual registration system, a video plate mounter, a DuPont FAST Cyrel plate making lab, a FlexSys Press Simulator, and other equipment supplied by the flexo industry.
