The intellectual property and certain assets of Hillside Industries of Middletown, CT, USA, have been acquired by Maxson Automatic Machinery Company, of Westerly, RI, USA, a manufacturer of rotary cutters and sheet handling systems. The announcement was made by Maxson President Joseph Matthews.
Established in 1947, Hillside Industries designs and manufactures architectural metalwork and fabricates structural components for the construction, power generation and machinery markets. Hillside serves the regional markets of New England and the mid Atlantic states.
John Formica Jr., president of Hillside Industries, joins Maxson as its general manager. “The addition of Hillside’s fabricating and metal bending equipment compliments Maxson’s existing machining capacity,” Formica says. “As a result, Maxson will be able to manufacture its complete product lines in house and Hillside Industries will be able to expand its services to their customers beyond fabrication and sheet metal markets to include close tolerance, high quality machining and assembly.”
