F.L. Smithe and Aquaflex will conduct an informational seminar for small and mid-sized converters at the F.L. Smithe facility in Duncansville, PA, USA. The one-day seminar, to be held on July 26 and again on July 27, is titled “From Labels to Film: An educational session for the label converter”. It will introduce the flexible packaging marketplace to converters wishing to diversify their business models.
The session will feature guest speakers from vendors such as Harper, Water Ink Technologies and Trinity Graphics, as well as a keynote speaker on the flexible packaging marketplace. Topics will include the differences in platemaking and anilox rolls between film and paper, among others. Aquaflex will demonstrate both film and paper label production on the new ELS Servo press.
“Film and flexible packaging continue to be growth areas in the packaging industry,” says Mac Rosenbaum, F.L. Smithe vice president. “We designed our new ELS Servo to provide a cost-effective entry point for label printers who want to step up to servo technology and capitalize on the demand for film-based products. Every transition has a learning curve — that’s why we are hosting this informational seminar for label printers. We want to help them understand what it takes to transition from paper based to film based products. This information will be critical for the converter as he plans for the future and determines his equipment needs.”
Space is limited. Call Donna Confer at 814-695-5521, ext. 225, or contact Aquaflex by email at training@aquaflex.com. More information is available at www.aquaflex.com.
