The judges of the Label Industry Global Awards have unanimously voted to bestow one of the industry's highest honors upon Calvin Frost, chairman of Channeled Resources Group. Frost will receive the R. Stanton Avery Lifetime Achievement Award at Labelexpo Americas in September.
Frost is regarded as the leading international champion of recycling and environmental awareness in the label industry, devoting most of his working life and career to salvaging PSA waste and turning it into useful materials by making pressure sensitive products more environmentally friendly. His ongoing mission is to continue to channel cost-effective and environmentally responsible solutions to global label converters and industry suppliers. He is a regular contributor to Label & Narrow Web magazine, in which he writes about environmental subjects in his column, "Letters from the Earth".
Frost graduated with a degree in English from Kenyon College in the United States and began his career with several marketing positions before establishing the Channeled Resources Group in Chicago in the mid-1970s. The group is a pioneer and worldwide leader in the field of reprocessed paper, film label stocks and liners, as well as in the re-use and recycling of pressure sensitive waste.
Throughout his long association with the label industry, Frost has played an active role in the sector and in recycling organizations all over the world. He is currently chair of the TLMI Environmental Committee and has been a regular speaker and chairman at TLMI, FINAT, Labelexpo, AWA, Adhesive and Sealant Council events, to name a few. This year, he will be co-chairing the TLMI/FINAT joint meeting being held in Orlando.
