This year Chemsultants International marks its 20th anniversary, and it will do so in a big way: opening a new 10-acre campus in Mentor, OH, USA with state-of-the-art testing, product development, research and training facilities to serve its growing customer base in the global adhesives and sealants industries.
Founded two decades ago by Richard P. Muny, its president, Chemsultants has earned a worldwide reputation for expertise in adhesives, coatings and sealants product development and testing. Chemsultants International’s scientists specialize in developing and testing pressure sensitive and heat seal adhesives, specialty coatings, and sealants, as well as thermoplastic and thermoset coatings. The company offers pilot coating, laminating, converting, and slitting capabilities as part of its product development capabilities.
It is capable of testing a broad range of label, tape and adhesive products for conformance to the standards of the Pressure Sensitive Tape Council; The Tag and Label Manufacturers Institute Inc.; ASTM International; and the European associations of Afera and FINAT, among others.
The new 35,000 square foot building, says Muny, “reflects Chemsultants International’s mission of treating each person like a partner and doing everything we can to improve quality and lower costs.” The Development Center focuses exclusively on speeding research on new specialty products and process improvements. It features a multi-purpose Arrow pilot coater capable of coating solvent and emulsion adhesives; new solvent recovery equipment; new plasma treatment capabilities; upgraded mixing equipment; new slitting capacity; a separate compounding room; and a dedicated quality control lab.
The company employs 32 people. The new address is 9079 Tyler Road, Mentor OH 44060 USA.
