MKS, Ion Industrial expands static control product line

MKS, Ion Industrial, a product group of MKS Instruments Inc. located in Windsor Locks, CT, USA, has extended its product line for industrial electrostatic applications with the 30kV/3mA DC-25 charging generator, RC-type charging bars with stainless steel and tungsten electrodes, and mini charge applicator. MKS, Ion Industrial will market these and several other products under the Tantec brand name in the commercial printing and graphics arts industry, film and plastics industries. Prior to this, the company had introduced 7020/7220 electrostatic charging generators and 7401 small-size charging bars under its Ion brand.

The combined Tantec and MKS, Ion Industrial electrostatic charging product line will offer solutions for a wide range of electrostatic pinning or tacking applications such as in binder manufacturing, card inserting, catalog stacking, chill roll edge pinning on cast film lines, in-mold labeling, interleaving, roll changeover/transfer, plastic bag manufacturing, and shrink wrapping.

In 1999, Ion Industrial introduced static control technology to the paper and film converting and plastics industries. Now, combined with the Tantec charging product line, MKS, Ion Industrial believes it will become one of the leading providers of both standard and custom solutions for static charging and neutralizing applications serving the worldwide plastics, film, and commercial printing and graphic arts industries.
