Recognizing the interest in sustainable packaging by both the packaging community and the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP) membership of over 5,000, IoPP's Technical Council recently approved the formation of a Sustainable Packaging Task Group.
The group’s first meeting will be in Holland, MI, USA at Herman Miller Inc., a company that has demonstrated a commitment to sustainability. Attendees will hear from Herman Miller executives, who will discuss the challenges and opportunities that sustainable packaging presents. Leading the group are Ted Holloran and Bob Forsyth.
Working sessions will explore the definition of sustainable packaging and other related terms; the metrics – how sustainable packaging is measured; and how to educate the packaging community about sustainable packaging.
