GRE Engineering Products AG, of Steinebrunn, Switzerland, has been sold to Roger Wey, formerly of Datacon GmbH, a supplier in the field of semi-conductors. The seller was Rolf Reichle, managing director.

“I reached a point in my life where I wanted to devote less of my time to the day-to-day activities of GRE Engineering Products,” Reichle says. “However, I still wished to see the continued growth and success of the company. The ideal solution was found with Mr. Wey, who has purchased 100 percent of the company and who is now owner and CEO, managing all facets of GRE activities worldwide.” Reichle and his son Mario, who is based in Romania, will continue working with GRE on a consultancy basis.

Adds Roger Wey: “Business at GRE will continue as usual during the transition, and I look forward to directing the future of this successful enterprise in the years to come. Exciting plans are already in the pipeline. We are currently in the process of establishing a major presence in the Asian market, and this year we will also launch GRE Hungary Kft., a dedicated operation aimed at the rapidly growing Eastern European printing industry and all the EU markets.”

GRE Engineering Products AG is a provider of converting equipment to the graphic arts industry worldwide. Recent innovations include the GRE “Intelligent Converter” system, which enables printers to process rolls of printed labels inline and apply hologram foil and RFID attachments to produce a secure label in register.
