Users and prospective customers of AB Graphic International’s label converting equipment convened at Bridlington, England, in June to celebrate the company’s first open house in its new facility. More than 150 industry professionals attended the two-day event.
AB Graphic demonstrated new converting options for its range of products, and previewed the new Omega FSR slitter rewinder optimized for the processing of unsupported film materials.
According to Sales Director Tony Bell, “We have seen a significant trend in the narrow web roll to roll press industry towards servo drive machinery capable of handling a wide range of unsupported film materials. Having purchased such equipment, there is a requirement for an inspection slitter rewinder to handle the same product range. Our response was to design a machine specifically to handle the difficult, thin, unsupported materials but is also capable of operating with normal pressure sensitive label stock. The Omega FSR is our solution for a changing market.”
The Omega FSR incorporates all the functions required to handle large rolls of unsupported film and includes a driven unwind station, robust slitter/knife shaft, multiple slitting options, dual rewind with lay on rollers, and a closed loop/taper tension system.
Also previewed during the open house was the new Flytec 100 percent inspection system, which can be supplied with all Omega machines or as a retrofit to any of the more popular inspection slitter rewinders. The company says it will unveil further new developments at LabelExpo Europe in September.
