One popular location at Labelexpo Europe 2007 is the Omet booth, where crowds gather to see the new X-Flex flexo press, which the company calls its “new benchmark”. The press is designed for ease of use across a variety of jobs from simple film labels to complex multi-web applications, and from 12-micron unsupported film to 250-micron carton board.
According to Omet, the X-Flex boasts the lowest waste levels and fastest setup times of any press on the market, partly because of its short web path (about five feet per print station). Its automated Vision System integrates pre-register and control during production to reduce waste in job changeovers.
The servo driven X-Flex uses printing sleeve technology to eliminate vibration and reduce maintenance, as well as providing stability for high precision printing.
