Less than three months after buying its first Omet press, Multi-Color Corporation has acquired its second. The new Varyflex flexographic press, manufactured at Omet's headquarters in Lecco, Italy, was on display at Labelexpo Europe in Brussels this month. The sale was facilitated by Matik North America.
Multi-Color requires additional flexographic capacity to keep up with growing demand, according to Don Kneir, president of the company's Decorating Solutions Division. In addition to the Omet press purchases, the company announced in August its plan to acquire an HP Indigo ws4500 digital press.
"The new press offers all the flexibility that consumer package goods companies are looking for in today’s competitive marketplace: high quality flexo print, screen printing, lamination, and foil stamping," says Kneir. The press features Omet's new Vision 1 auto-register system, which uses less than two web lengths to achieve perfect register, according to the company.
“The additional flexo capacity strengthens our value proposition and enables us to offer our customers the highest quality flexo printing as well as shorter lead times, improved manufacturing efficiencies, and multiple decorating solutions,” adds Kneir.
Based in Sharonville, OH, USA, Multi-Color Corporation is a supplier of decorating solutions to consumer product and food and beverage companies, national retailers and container manufacturers worldwide. It is one of the world’s largest producers of in-mold and heat transfer labels, and a major manufacturer of high quality cut-and-stack and pressure sensitive labels and shrink sleeves. The company has eight manufacturing locations in the USA.
