Three other US label converters, all from Wisconsin, won Best Workplace in the Americas awards this year: Lauterbach Group, Waukesha; Tailored Label Products, Menomonee Falls; and CL&D Graphics, Oconomowoc.
“We are very proud of the Best of the Best Workplace in America award from PIA,” says Richard Spencer, president of Label World. “This is the second time we have been recognized under our new leadership team, and the sixth time overall! I strongly believe that investing in world class workplace practices is a critical factor in our continued growth and success. We have an incredible and highly motivated group of associates who go the extra mile for our customers and their colleagues every day. This award recognizes them all.”
The awards program, which includes printers of many types, is designed to recognize graphic arts companies for their outstanding human relations efforts which contribute to a successful workplace. “Since 2000, the Best Workplace program has recognized industry leaders from small, medium and large firms in the graphic arts industry for their outstanding human relations practices,” says Jim Kyger, HR director of PIA/GATF. “While every company that entered this year’s competition has HR programs they should be proud of, the Best Workplace program recognizes outstanding accomplishment. This program is a way to give employers doing innovative, yet cost-effective HR programs, the recognition they deserve.”
Entries are judged on management practices, work environment, training and development opportunities, recognition and rewards, workplace health and safety, health and wellness, financial security, and work-life balance. Eighteen companies received the designation Best of the Best, while 29 earned Best Workplace honors.
