Clemson University’s Department of Graphic Communications will present a new program, Printing Foundations: A Decision Maker’s Symposium, February 12-13. This latest offering in Clemson’s industry training series is geared toward professionals who are faced with making high dollar decisions that affect their company’s productivity and profitability.
During the two-day symposium, attendees will gain the technical basics essential for making smarter and more affective print decisions. This symposium is appropriate for anyone wishing to improve their technical knowledge; new to a decision making role; new to a specific printing process; or looking to enter another segment of the printing industry. Program topics will be suitable for professionals from digital, flexographic, gravure, lithographic, and screen printing process.
Topics to be covered include: graphics terminology; Color 101; controlling printability in your process; know your printing capabilities; developing new products and markets; developing and supporting your workers and suppliers; building relationships; and the new generation workforce. Breakout sessions will accommodate process specific issues in flexography, digital print, screen printing, offset lithography, and gravure.
Topics will be presented primarily by expert faculty from Clemson’s Department of Graphic Communications as well as practitioners from various industry segments. Page Crouch, Clemson Professor Emeritus, will moderate.
Symposium registration is $495 for individuals and $450 for groups of 3 or more, and includes continental breakfasts and lunches both days, and an evening social.
