Boise’s Compel semi-gloss label stock makes debut

September 11, 2008

The new product is designed for prime labeling applications.

Boise unveiled its Compel semi-gloss paper for prime label applications at Labelexpo, a one-side coated paper featuring high strength to facilitate high quality printing. Boise is a supplier of paper products and release liners to the major pressure sensitive labelstock producers.

“This is new for Boise,” said Dan Brown, director of marketing and strategic planning. “We were more of a niche supplier in the past, but our timing with this product is significant because the marketplace needs it.”

The company also is promoting paper as a preferred environmental substrate choice, citing the renewability of wood products and the higher recovery rate of paper over plastic.
