MPS, the Dutch manufacturer of servo presses, announced at Labelexpo that production will begin soon on a new press called Etiprint, the result of a venture between the company and Etirama Brasil, in the São Paulo region. The press, which will be available in the first half of 2009, is described by the company as “an entry level press that is more cost effective, but without compromise.”
Etirama Brasil is a 40 year old equipment manufacturer with 150 employees; the company sold 120 of its own machines in 2007. The new machine produced with MPS will be a flexo press officially called Etiprint – Powered by MPS. The press will feature European servo and UV technology, and will be available in widths ranging from 10” to 16”.
In addition, the Etiprint will be a global press line “available at a very competitive price point,” said Bert van den Berg of MPS.
