Hooven-Dayton expands capacity and work force

March 31, 2009

Two new presses and four additional operators have been added over the past few months.

The Hooven-Dayton Corporation (HDC), a narrow web printer with both flexographic and digital printing capabilities based in Dayton, OH, USA, has purchased a new Nilpeter FB 4200 servo 16" press to expand its production capacity. The company also reports that since January, it has added personnel in production and in sales and marketing.

The press, which provides 10-color UV and/or conventional flexo printing capability, has an expected delivery date of April 2009. The purchase was made during the completion of the installation of HDC’s new 10" Nilpeter 10-color UV flexo press with rotary screen and hot stamp capabilities in October 2008.

The addition of the new presses brings the number of flexo and digital presses to 10. Four additional press operators have been hired since January, as well as a seventh sales rep and a marketing and sales coordinator. More operators are currently being recruited to run the new press.

Hooven-Dayton’s primary products include pressure sensitive labels, flexible packaging, unsupported film, promotional support (coupons), and lottery and gaming tickets. Major clients include Procter & Gamble and the Ohio Lottery.

HDC, founded in 1935, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Che International Group LLC, a 100 percent minority owned holding company specializing in acquiring, supporting and growing subsidiary companies in diverse industries through joint ventures and acquisitions.
