Polyonics has won the Circuits Assembly "New Product Introduction (NPI) Award," for the second year in a row, for its introduction of ProductSentry security enhanced high performance label materials. The NPI Award is an annual celebration of product excellence in electronics surface mount assembly. Premier products based on the finest examples of creative advancement in technology are chosen by a panel of industry experts.
The award was presented to the company during a ceremony at APEX 2009, an annual international exhibition for electronics manufacturers. Polyonics provides label materials globally for many electronics manufacturers, built around its Thermoguard harsh environment platform. ProductSentry is a new generation of bar code labels utilizing covert-enhanced Thermoguard technologies. Now, real-time WIP data collection is combined with overt, covert, and forensic “layered technologies” for product authentication without changing manufacturing operations.
According to Jim Williams, Polyonics’ founder, “These covert-designed ProductSentry configurations not only continue to give you the benefits of bar code technology for WIP and inventory control in day-to-day operations, but also help you protect your products from counterfeiting, warranty fraud, and product diversion downstream. This means that product authentication features are easily integrated into existing WIP bar code data collection systems online and in real time, during the products’ manufacture, and becoming an integral part of your brand protection, track and trace system."
