Innovative Printing Technologies (IPT) will install a SensoTec Auto-Register System on a Mark Andy 4150 press at Design Label, East Lyme, CT, USA, the first time such a system has been integrated into a Mark Andy press.
SensoTec, a German product distributed in North America by IPT, has600 installations worldwide. The systems have mainly been installed on Gallus and Nilpeter presses. “This installation on the Mark Andy is a great opportunity to expand the press base to which this system can be integrated,” says Peter Kuschnitzky, president of IPT. “The components on the Mark Andy 4150 allow for a cost effective way to add the registration system to the press. Printed register marks and fiber optic sensors will control the existing stepper motors of the Mark Andy press.”
“By installing the auto-register system, I am looking to reduce the waste during makeready, both material and time spent setting the job up, says Design Label’s Kyle Knight. “Any process that can be automated to reduce labor as well as raw material fits right into the process of creating a lean workflow.”
