Cheered by the leading lights of the label business, a handful of companies and one individual were celebrated Wednesday night as winners of Label Industry Global Awards. The high point of the evening was the presentation of the R. Stanton Avery Lifetime Achievement Award to Mike Fairley, a founder of Labelexpo and long considered the elder statesman of the label trade press.
The Green Award, a prize established just this year, was presented to GEW for its work in reducing energy consumption and waste in its UV curing systems.
The Converter of the Year award was presented to Rako, a major European label converter headquartered in Witzhave, Germany.
This year’s new innovation award, given to a supplier company that has demonstrated innovative technology in recent years, is EFI Jetrion, manufacturer of a digital UV inkjet press.
The continuous innovation award, presented to a supplier who has demonstrated consistent innovation over a long period of years, was bestowed upon EskoArtwork, the prepress specialist company.
