Marco Osuga has been named president of Sekisui TA Industries LLC (STA), an overlamination tape manufacturer based in Brea, CA, USA, effective April 1. He replaces Ikusuke Shimizu, who is transferring to Sekisui Chemical Co. Ltd. in Japan.
Osuga joined Sekisui Chemical in 1987. He has served the company in many areas, including R&D activities, new business promotion and business administration. Most recently he was senior manager of Sekisui Chemical’s Industrial Tape Division.
As president of STA, Osuga will supervise the production, sales, and marketing of packaging tape and label overlamination products. This includes manufacturing locations in Brea and in Rogersville, TN, USA, and US distribution warehouses in Texas, Wisconsin, and New Jersey.
According to a company statement, STA was affected by the global economic crisis, but under Shimizu’s leadership, various initiatives were undertaken, including cost reduction measures that enabled the company to mitigate the impact of the downturn while producing positive results for 2009. Marco Osuga says that he will build upon the results while continuing to focus on STA’s quality and level of service.
