Gallus Inc., the US arm of the Swiss press manufacturer, is inaugurating its North American debut of the Gallus ECS 340 by taking the new machine on the road. The first stop is Labelexpo Americas in Chicago in mid-September. The entire booth will feature the road show theme with the new Gallus ECS 340 in operation, just as it will be presented at other stops following the show.
The other stops on the trip are in the process of being scheduled, but a spokesman says that the plan is to head west to California with stops along the way, then return along a southern route to visit the East Coast before December.
Introduced in Europe last year, the ECS 340 is a lower-priced flexographic press with a granite base. The press features a short web path, servo drives and front-loading sleeve systems to cut material waste. The granite core, along with an integral water cooling system, is aimed at giving the press a long service life, and is said to make it quieter and more stable.
