“Free Money – Receiving State Grants To Improve Your Company” is the title of a special program open to all label converters, scheduled for Wednesday, September 22, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Fairfield, NJ, USA. The sponsor is NELMA, the North East Label Manufacturers Association.
The event, which is free of charge, starts at 4:30 pm and includes dinner. Both NELMA members and nonmembers are welcome.
Ros Stafford, a training specialist for JVS Corporate Training, will explain how a New Jersey company can apply for state grants, what type of training programs the grants can be used for, and the status of grants under the current governor. The grants can be used to train workers which ultimately can help to improve the company’s bottom line as well as increase morale.
According to Leslie Gurland, a NELMA officer and president of Logotech, a New Jersey label converter, the funding can be used in many areas, including but not limited to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, ISO, Total Quality Management, coaching and counseling employees, conflict resolution, customer service, and finance for the non-financial manager.
Logotech received a grant in 2009 that helped the company improve its internal processes. Gurland says that Logotech felt it was important to share the information with other NELMA members in order to help the industry grow.
To register for the program, please call or email Mary Monroe at 973-882-9595 or MMonroe@Logotech-inc.com.
