UK based ink manufacturer Pulse Roll Label Products has named Graymills, Inc. its distributor in North America. The Chicago, IL, based company will handle sales and support for the Pulse Digitech range of UV varnishes throughout the continent.
The Digitech range of UV varnishes is aimed at users of HP Indigo digital presses and is available in gloss, matte, super matte and foil blockable formulations. The range also includes a UV primer that permits inline UV printing or overprinting to accept digital inks. The formulations are suited to a wide range of substrates including coated paper, board, coated thermal paper, treated and primed synthetics, and aluminium foils.
“HP Indigo users know that there is an inherent incompatibility between the Indigo electroinks and most UV curable coatings,” says Ed Dedman, director of emerging technologies at Graymills. “They just don’t like each other. The new Digitech UV overprints for HP Indigo presses have been specially formulated to overcome incompatibility issues and exhibit excellent wetting, lay and adhesion over digital inks without the need to Corona treat or drive off residual imaging oil.”
“The deal was signed at Labelexpo Americas,” notes Gary Seward, Pulse Roll Label Products’ managing director. “As a well established supplier of associated peripheral equipment technologies for printing, Graymills is a perfect fit for us. We look forward to increasing our market share in North America and to developing a mutually rewarding business relationship.”
Pulse Roll Label Products has been supplying the label converting industry since 2000 and is part of the Pulse Group of companies. The company’s portfolio includes UV and water based inks, coatings and adhesives, plus special effect inks, pressroom products and cleaning solutions.
