FLEXcon to purchase Graphics Division of Arlon

February 1, 2011

The new Arlon Graphics will expand FLEXcon’s portfolio and distribution network.

FLEXcon, a manufacturer of pressure sensitive films and adhesives, has agreed to acquire the business assets of the Graphics Division of Arlon Inc. of Santa Ana, CA, USA, and will form a company to be named Arlon Graphics, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of FLEXcon. Neil McDonough, president of FLEXcon, says that the acquisition “will strengthen our market leadership position by expanding its product portfolio in advertising and promotional products, as well as extending its sales channel and global market presence.

The new Arlon Graphics will extend offers of employment to the executives and employees. When the acquisition is complete, FLEXcon will have the option to purchase Arlon Engineered Coated Products and Arlon SignTech Ltd. of San Antonio, TX, USA, following necessary due diligence.

Founded in 1958, the Graphics Division of Arlon is a manufacturer of pressure sensitive cast vinyl, flexible substrates, and print media films for digital imaging, signage, vehicle graphic and screen printing. The new Arlon Graphics will continue its dedication to delivering high quality broad product offerings, specifically its cast product range, McDonough notes. FLEXcon will benefit from the company’s distribution centers across six continents, with sales in more than 50 countries.

“FLEXcon is excited to announce the formation of Arlon Graphics, LLC,” says McDonough. “FLEXcon is attracted to the Graphics Division of Arlon for its complementary product lines and its skilled, dedicated workforce. The synergies between the two companies are ideal. Both manufacturers are dedicated to delivering quality products and unbeatable customer service. This move will further strengthen FLEXcon’s product range and secures our status as a market leader.”

FLEXcon, based in Spencer, MA, USA, is a family-owned, privately-held business formed in 1956, with 1,200 employees throughout North America and Europe. The company manufactures pressure sensitive films and adhesives for applications including indoor and outdoor advertising, bonding/mounting, and product identification, safety, hazard, bar-coded, and primary labels.
