MPS UK, the British arm of the Dutch press manufacturer, demonstrated an MPS EF press last month at an open house at its new facility in Wigan. The event was attended by representatives of more than 40 companies from the UK and Ireland, and was supported by GEW, Flint Inks, Cheshire Engraving, Avery Dennison, and Rossini UK.
The event showcased the first MPS press to be installed into the UK market place with Automated Print Control. The machine, a 16" wide 7-color press, has a short web path similar to the entire range of MPS machinery.
The EF press ran both self-adhesive and BOPP materials. Various jobs running on different repeat sleeves were sent to the press via an iPad and printed using previously saved data from the job memory. The iPad was raffled at the end of the event, and the winner was Dan Gorfin of James Townsend & Sons Ltd. of Exeter.
The machine has been purchased by Watershed Packaging Ltd. of Leeds.
