MacDermid announces price increases

May 9, 2011

Raw materials prices continue to affect industry suppliers.

MacDermid Printing Solutions has announced a global price increase of 7 percent on its liquid and sheet photopolymer plates and related products. The increase will be effective July 1.

MacDermid, based in Atlanta, GA, USA, reports that it has experienced unprecedented levels of rising prices on its raw materials. “Efforts to mitigate these increases through productivity improvements and multiple supplier sourcing have had limited effect,” the company announced in a statement. “Additionally, conversion costs for MacDermid continue to rise. The net increase in cost can no longer be absorbed by MacDermid.”

The company manufactures printing plates and plate processing equipment for the narrow web industry, among others.
