Advanced Labels NW, Lynnwood, WA, USA, has installed its first HP Indigo WS6000 digital offset press. In addition to the press, the company has purchased the HP Smart Stream Labels and Packaging Print Server and an AB Graphic International’s Digicon Series 2 finishing system.

“We believe the time is now to pursue high resolution digital offset as a solution for our new and existing clients who have come to expect high quality printing and increased speed to market,” says Kevin Davis, president and founder of Advanced Labels NW. “HP has opened our eyes to the many benefits of merging digital offset technology with conventional flexo printing, as well as a much needed addition to our rapidly growing business and client expectations,” says Davis. “Simply put, digital printing has become market and client driven and there’s no ignoring this fact any longer.”

When Advanced Labels opened its doors over 20 years ago, its mantra was “to be a different kind of label company, to exceed client expectations, always…,” a motto that still holds true today, says Davis.

“The HP Indigo WS6000 digital press is the flagship label press model from the leading brand worldwide for digital label printing technology,” said Jan Riecher, vice president and general manager, Graphics Solutions Business – Americas, HP. “The brands Advanced Labels NW serve require the increased flexibility that digital printing offers, and with the WS6000 model, they also get the best combination of value, productivity and offset quality.”

In his search for the right type of finishing equipment for the new press, Davis chose AB Graphic International’s Digicon Series 2 solution to offer all the finishing treatments the company currently utilizes on its flexo presses. In doing so, Davis has outfitted Advanced Label’s finishing line with flatbed hot stamping and embossing, semi-rotary diecutting and embossing, cold foil and lamination, as well as multiple print and varnish treatment stations.
