Flexlink LLC has been named the distributor of FiberMark North America’s durable tag and label product line throughout North America. The agreement includes Permafiber, FiberMark’s care labels, and a host of other tag and label base stocks. It widens Flexlink’s product offering in the specialty paper, film and lamination market while increasing FiberMark’s market penetration.
Produced by FiberMark, Permafiber is a water resistant, bleedfast paper that comes in 10 colors. It is used in laundry tags, lockout tagout tags, lumber tags, Christmas tree tags, wildlife registration cards, and other applications where a tag or ticket is required to be waterproof and biodegradable. “Given the market’s interest in moving away from polymer based substrates, we believe there is pent up need for a fiber based, attractive, printable, high tear kraft paper that can hold up in the most extreme environments yet still break down over time.” says Larry Reeve, Flexlink’s new business development manager.
Care labels are permanent and can be sewn into garments, bedding and other textiles. Other products in the agreement include papers designed for clean room tags and a wide range of decorative products designed for hang tags, cards and other narrow web printing applications.
Flexlink, based in Cleveland, OH, USA, is a worldwide marketer of specialty papers, films and laminations, and sells a packaging and consumable materials into the steel, glass, paint and narrow web converting industries. Fibermark North America is based in Brattleboro, VT, USA, and markets fiber based materials around the world.
