INX International Ink Co. will introduce its new NW140 UV digital narrow web press at Labelexpo in Brussels, which features Xaar inkjet print heads and UV LED curing from Phoseon Technology.
The NW140 press is the latest addition to INX’s Evolve Advanced Digital Solutions brand line.It delivers single pass color printing at speeds up to 80 feet per minute on any label stock. Curing is accomplished by Phoseon’s FireLine 225 high efficiency water-cooled UV LED curing system. The LED curing lamps are used for the final curing process to ensure complete full cure and good adhesion qualities to the substrate.
Phoseon Technology became involved with INX earlier this year in the development in the NW140. “We were discussing our technology with Jim Lambert at INX for quite some time before talks centered on the FireLine 225 earlier this year,” said Chad Taggard, Phoseon’s director of marketing. “Phoseon delivers UV performance by maximizing UV energy UV in a robust, reliable, small form factor. Our UV LED systems provide environmental benefits as well since they don’t use mercury or generate ozone.”
INX International Ink is the third largest producer of inks in North America, with more than 20 facilities in the US and Canada, and is a global supplier as part of Sakata INX worldwide operations.
