Siegwerk, an ink manufacturer based in Siegburg, Germany, has joined Sedex, a not-for-profit membership organization dedicated to driving improvements in global supply chains. Sedex (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange) offers suppliers the opportunity to share information with customers on labor standards, health and safety, the environment and business practices.
“This membership will make communication with our customers and suppliers a lot easier and will enable us to radically reduce the ever-increasing number of audit formats and questionnaires,” says Jörg-Peter Langhammer, vice president of global HSE and sustainability at Siegwerk. The first step that Siegwerk will make as a member of Sedex will be to transfer the data of its biggest sites to the Sedex platform and to connect with other members.
Sedex, which is headquartered in London, was founded in 2004 and now has more than 23,000 members. According to the company, transparency regarding social and ethical responsibility is the core mission of the organization.
