Variable barcode labelling manufacturer AC Labels was named “Best Trade Manufacturer of the year” at the Independent Print Industries Association (IPIA) 2012 annual awards dinner on June 13, held at Oulton Hall Hotel near Leeds, UK.

The Derby-based company was voted "Best Trade Manufacturer" by other members of the Independent Print Industries Association, and was selected from over 50 potential nationwide candidates.

The prestigious awards are recognized throughout the UK printing industry as the IPIA is held in high regard, with membership restricted to trade printing companies that transact business in an ethical and honest manner. The “Best Trade Manufacturer” award is given to the manufacturer who overall, throughout the year, has provided the most excellent service. The main measures are innovation, consistent quality and delivery response to queries and the professionalism of their internal staff.

General Manager Peter Hartshorn, explained that the prestigious award is very important to AC Labels as an indication of how far the company had come in a short time. “Since becoming part of the Mercian Labels Group just two years ago, we have had to focus on our core skills, specializing in the supply of high quality pre-printed variable data and bar coded labels and tags to businesses. All the members of our small team at Derby are very proud of the service we provide and this award is recognition of the team’s dedication.”

He added: “Over the last two years, AC Labels has understood that print management companies require specialized printers to support them in supplying their end users. They now work closely with a small number of companies like AC Labels who have been key in providing innovative cost saving solutions by working as a partner along side the print management company.”

Jason Woodhouse, AC Labels business development manager, said “the IPIA award shows everyone in the industry that we are an excellent company to work with” he added “the award should open doors and give us an opportunity to provide cost saving solutions for other businesses who use variable data or bar codes somewhere within their business."
