Hammer Packaging has announced he acquisition of a web-fed Berhalter diecutter, which it says "uniquely positions the company in the complex IML-I and lidding market and takes Hammer to a new level in supporting its customers' IML-I needs beyond our current counter pressure cutting systems."
The new machine can die-cut complex shapes direct from Hammer's VSOP or flexo web. The company's third VSOP from Muller-Martini will be arriving in November 2012. The press offers UV or electron beam (EB) inks with multiple coating options. It also offers combination runs, performance-based ink and coating selections and no cylinder or plate costs. The VSOP complements the company's newest 10-color UV flexo press from Nilpeter, which was installed in May 2012.
