CV Labels installs fifth Omega inspection rewinder

October 9, 2012

Equipped with FleyeVision 100 percent print face inspection, the new Omega HSR and camera will enable the company to handle increased production needs.

AB Graphic International has supplied a fifth Omega inspection rewinder to Irvine, Scotland-based CV Labels Ltd. Equipped with FleyeVision 100 percent print face inspection, the new Omega HSR and camera will enable CV Labels to handle increased production needs.

Commenting on the investment, Bob Veitch of CV Labels said, “The new equipment is streamlining our finishing throughput and enabling high end inspection on all our labels. Our core production is for the pharmaceutical and medical market sectors and without the inspection rewinding equipment from AB Graphic International, we would be unable to satisfy the PS9000 standards expected by our customers. Visitors are amazed when we show them the speed and accuracy of the camera system and our operators are more relaxed relying on this for the inspection process. We also have internet access to FleyeVision who are able to handle any issues for us remotely as well as back-up from AB Graphic International in the UK.”

Established in 1989, CV Labels is a privately owned company serving the pharmaceutical, medical, wine, spirits, beauty and healthcare industries. The company supplies a complete range of labels from plain die cut to full color process printing.

The Omega HSR and FleyeVision camera permits 100% inspection, slitting and is driven by a new, intelligent menu system. When the camera detects a fault it automatically error places to a secondary splice table. A wide range of options is available including PDF comparison, barcodes, OCR and Braille inspection. Defects are inspected and re-inspected to ensure 100% error free webs suitable for pharmaceutical and other applications where high security is essential. Ink jet barcodes, sell by dates and sequential numbering can be applied to the print or back side of the web.
