Steinhauser Inc., a digital and flexographic label and packaging printer located in Newport, KY, USA, recently installed technology upgrades to their presses and finishing systems. Almost every piece of printing and finishing equipment in the facility was enhanced by newly installed systems, which brings their efficiency, waste reduction, and productivity to an all time high.

Their HP Indigo WS6000 is now equipped with an HP In Line Priming Unit to reduce waste from offline coating processes and gain control of primer coat weight. Additionally, an AVT Helios II was installed to obtain 100% defect detection, PDF comparison, color monitoring and roll mapping.

Each of Steinhauser's Comco Proglide presses has also been outfitted with the AVT Helios II systems. To further increase efficiency and quality on these flexo presses, CC1 Apollo 2 systems were also installed. These systems assist in fully automating circumferential registration and constantly detect errors in lateral and circumferential registration. Steinhauser’s CEI rewinders have also been upgraded to the AVT Work Flow Link to work directly with information from the AVT Helios II to increase production and accuracy in the finishing process.

Steinhauser prints labels, shrink sleeves, and flexible packaging for many industries with a focus on health & beauty and food & beverage markets.
